Working closely with Artistic Director Beth Gallimore and Managing Director Alex Fane, JHI launched Fane’s inaugural Words Weekend festival in December 2019 – a brand new take on a literary festival, celebrating the power of words and stories by championing the rich musical and literary history of the North East.
With a key focus on accessibility and diversity, local outreach played a big part in the campaign, whilst JHI co-ordinated targeted advertising across the festival, both as a whole and directly promoting individual events.
JHI provide a full social service for the festival – both organic and paid – from devising initial strategy to content planning, scheduling, community management, as well as extensive live coverage across the weekend. Recently, JHI focussed on their influencer outreach, which has seen impressive results all-round.
In the last nine months, the Words Weekend platforms have seen increases in overall engagement, reach and new followers, which has grown on average by 1215% across their two hero channels.
Drawing an audience of over 12,000 people, the first Words Weekend festival was an unprecedented success – with further festivals lined up for 2020 and 2021. Watch this space.
