It Happened In Key West
Never ones to shy away from a challenge, JHI were excited to take on the marketing campaign for brand new musical rom-com It Happened in Key West at the Charing Cross Theatre in July 2018. Based on an extraordinary true story from 1930s Florida, this absurd, madcap production crossed Richard Curtis with Tim Burton by asking audiences to believe in “undying love”.
Audiences and critics were divided but JHI’s imagination and determination shone through. With a short lead-in time, we moved quickly to arrange a meet and greet session with press and ticket agents where producer Jeremiah James dazzled with his passion for the project to get everyone on the right side of a divisive storyline. This worked well and ensured there was plenty of engagement, so JHI worked closely with the design and productions teams – as well as the theatre, ticket agents and theatre news sites - in piecing together a high impact social and digital campaign, paired with strategic print distribution and outdoor sites to draw in musical theatre fans and rom-com lovers alike.
