The Royal Treatment

22 November 2019

A couple of weeks on from the big move into our brand-new offices, where we have just been joined by our colleagues, Fane, life continues at breakneck speed for all the team.

It would not be a normal week at JHI without a press night, and it was with great excitement that the team got to attend the world premiere of Stray Dogs at the Park Theatre. A play centred on the work of Russian poet, Anna Akhmatova, against the backdrop of Stalin’s regime, Stray Dogs is a probing play, which holds continued relevance about the power of art in the face of political disturbance.

Our friends at Mischief Theatre put on a show fit for the future King and Queen as the cast of Groan Ups performed in the Royal Variety Show! Wills and Kate seemed to enjoy the scene performed from Groan Ups and can be enjoyed by us all in December when the Royal Variety Show airs.

From current royalty to the most famous and fabulous of Queens – SIX welcomed some new cast members into the Queendom. The wonderful new Queens had a photoshoot to officially announce the new roles and have already been wowing audiences at the Arts Theatre.

Exciting news as we have announced a tour with Ella Mills, founder of Deliciously Ella. Ella will be discussing and exploring mental and physical health, whilst sharing how she maintained looking after herself whilst building a business, brand, and becoming a mother. Ella is travelling across the country and tickets are available now!

The first Words Weekend festival is fast approaching us, with Gateshead playing host in two weeks’ time. But if you can’t get to the North East to see the huge variety of inspiring guests, Words Weekend has announced today that the festival’s next stop will be in Salford. Keep an eye out to see the different acts that will be appearing!

We are so excited to have started working with Riverside Studios on a new production of Love, Loss and Chianti. The play will be part of the much-anticipated relaunch of Riverside Studios in Hammersmith, and it was very exciting to be able to attend the launch night this week. A wonderful play in a wonderful venue!

This week, our very own Jo Hutchison sat on a panel talking all things Marketing and PR alongside other industry experts. The Q&A session was part of SOLT’s Communications & Audiences day conference where people from across the country working within the industry came to hear from leading experts. Jo spoke about a wide range of marketing examples from throughout her career, including explaining how the iconic The Play That Goes Wrong upside-down ad came into being.

Finally, it was a winning week for Team Curtis Brown’s netball team. Finishing an unbeaten season as the undisputed champions, Team CB finished the job winning the final. Celebratory pints followed, and the team look forward to returning to defend their title in the New Year.
