Olivier Awards 2018
JHI took to the red carpet on Sunday at the 2018 Olivier Awards, and what a fabulous night it was! The magnificent Hamilton cast opened the show, we got goose bumps from Sheila Atim's performance of 'Tight Connection to My Heart' from Girl from the North Country and we were blown away by the spectacle of 42ndStreet’s fantastic cast filling the Royal Albert Hall stage. We were honoured to have worked on three of the shows nominated this year; Mischief Movie Night (Best New Comedy), La Bohéme (Best New Opera Production) and Gangsta Granny (Best Family & Entertainment), and we would like to congratulate all the winners and the nominees for their amazing work.
After the ceremony we headed to the Natural History Museum for the post Olivier's party where we boogied under the whale skeleton and watched a dance-off between the casts of Hamilton and Five Guys Named Moe! It was an amazing location filled with inspiring and talented people.
We would also like to thank SOLT, all who worked on the Olivier Awards plus all the attendees for supporting the Time's Up campaign. Widespread calls to end sexual harassment in theatre dominated the evening and it was incredible to see so many wearing the badge to show their support. The evening was also filled with speeches by presenters and winners hailing a new era of gender and race equality in the industry.
