Flying start to the year!

24 January 2020

The month of January has nearly come to an end, and it has flown by in the JHI office as we get set for the year ahead. Plans being put in place, content being created and exciting announcements have been coming thick and fast these past couple of weeks.

Firstly, we must congratulate The Comedy about a Bank Robbery, which announced this week that after 4 years and over 2000 performances, it will be saying goodbye to the West End. It has been a joy to work on such a hilariously wonderful show, and we are very excited to see what new ventures are in store for the cast and Mischief Theatre!

But there is no need to worry if you are wondering where you will get your Mischief fix as after glowing reviews and delighting audiences, Magic Goes Wrong has been extended until August 2020! And if you always need some of the Mischief’s mishaps within easy access, you can now pre-order the Goes Wrong Show on DVD! Our very own Rhys got behind the camera and directed a “Meet the Cast” video for the latest cast of The Play that Goes Wrong; the best opportunity to find out all about the actors who have audiences rolling around with laughter! It has been a very busy few months for the team at Mischief but is always so thrilling to see what they will pull out of their hat next!

Thriller celebrated its 11th birthday on Wednesday with a sing-along performance. It will be the last birthday celebrating at the Lyric Theatre and as always, it had the audience singing and dancing away!

SIX had a huge week, with the musical extending its run until January 2021. The Queens are also reigning supreme across the world, with SIX opening in Australia to rave reviews and it’s not long until the Queens get ready to take a bite out of The Big Apple. Broadway is the next throne the Queendom will be conquering, and there’s even a chance to win a pair of tickets for the Broadway opening night – check out the SIX social media channels to enter!

As the Queens go from strength to strength, female empowerment is a theme shared with our Fane events taking place in the coming weeks. This week, it has been announced that Chidera Eggerue (aka theslumflower) will be joined by special guest, Florence Given. An inspiring evening for young women, this event can be caught at EartH Hackney! Finally, Helen Fielding will be speaking at at three venues around the UK. Tickets have gone on sale this week for what promises to be an exciting chance to hear from the lady who gave us the icon that is, Bridget Jones! Time to dig out the DVDs and become reacquainted with Bridget’s big knickers!
